One Hit Wonders

The St. Kits expo has been uneventful over the past several days, which is probably for the best. No sign of Larry, though. No one that I've run into has heard a thing from him.

Was watching VH-1 in my hotel room this morning - a show on one hit wonders from the 80's - and who should pop up but Spandau Ballet. What memories they brought back! They were on the countdown at Number 6 with "True". That one was OK, but there were other songs from that album that were much better.

I've been thinking of having a more full-featured space on the web, something a little more robust that would support an online newsletter or newspaper. But I don't have any money to spend on that sort of thing. I wonder if my friends up in Allentown know of anything like that that's free?

Back to the beach, for now.

I heard the guys over at associated content could do that sort of thing for you for free.

www.associatedcontent.com/join.html

You could even make some extra cash for doing it too.

it's funny, I've had that song "true" running through my head all day, though I really don't remember much of the lyrics, so it's been a 3 second snippet replayed about 10,000 times. You mentioned that other songs on that album appealed to you more; I looked through some of their songs, and no others really rang a bell. Did you have a particular favorite?

You may have seen NANCY DUNNER, lately. She's an uncanny nerd, thinking early 80s music to be canned, runny, and generally stale. If you see her, you should probably avoid telling her about your musical inclinations.

cheers and good times!

Hey, jz., how are you? Hate it when that happens; you just keep trying and trying and trying and you can't come up with it - but you can't get it out of your head either, huh.

I'm trying to place you. Were you at that party at 1942 Duplicity Lane? Which one were you? How will I know which clique you were with?

Yeah man, I liked some of their other stuff more. Let's talk about that some time - right now I've got to run, though.

I was at an elaborate masquerade party on that street, though i'm not sure of the number. I went as Chevalier Dupin and spent most of my night chasing around some guy in an ape suit, though I'm pretty sure he wasn't in on the gag. When I get a chance to search my memory a little more thouroughly, perhaps I'll be able to recall who I was with. Chances are good I was with some other folks from Allentown, though.

Hey tpetal,

I just saw that spiderman movie and I was thinking... where does he get all of those freewebs.

Anyway, my good friend Zizka told me he knows of a great beach for you to visit. You may remember him from the party on Duplicity Lane.

Oh yeah, then next time we speak I am going to need to get some directions to Allentown. I was wondering if you could help with that, seeing how as you used to live there.

Thanks!
J.L.
